Composite (tooth-colored) fillings

When decay is found early, the damaged part of the tooth is removed and replaced with composite resin, matched to the shade of your tooth and bonded in place. Composite fillings are not visible like silver fillings, and the approach is conservative: as much healthy tooth as possible is kept.

Inlays and onlays

When a cavity or an old filling is too large for a simple filling but a full crown is more than the tooth needs, an inlay or onlay is the middle ground — a custom piece that fits into or over the damaged part of the tooth and is bonded in place.

Replacing old fillings

Old fillings can crack, leak or wear down over the years. At your exam Dr. Kohl will tell you plainly which ones need attention now, which can wait, and which are fine — no upsell.
